Vintage Photo - Local Comic Shop (c.1980/1981)

This is not unlike the first comic store that I visited in Garden Grove, CA. On Brookhurst St., if memory serves. If only I could remember the name.

Comics Unlimited?

My memory shames me.

An earlier blog entry indicates that it was called Brookhurst Comics, but that doesn’t feel right. I probably won’t be able to sleep tonight because of this. And I know it wasn’t Mile High Comics, though they had a shop not far from the one I’m trying to remember.

This issue is totally bonkers and features the grim milestone of Carol Danvers’ pregnancy.

The full 7.5 minutes of Afrikaa Bambaataa and Soul Sonic Force’s masterpiece “Planet Rock” with bonus NASA-derived visuals. Footage is from 1980 or before. This video kicked out in 1982. Super-minimal groove. Still the best.
